((Just a couple of drawings that go with the Modern AU that themusesgrove and I are planning. The one with Pitch has a drabble that goes with it, and I may post the drabble later.))

"Keep them." He shrugged before carefully exiting. "And think the dinner invitation over." Walking down the street, he cut through the park to the high rise that was closest. Nodding to the doorman, he hurried to the elevator and hit the button for the penthouse floor. "I'm home."

"Ah want ta put my sister's head on a pike." Morgana huffed as she took a bag. Her grumbling went back to Gaelic as she dug through the fridge for the leftovers. "Shepard's pie sound good?"

"Of course it does." Pitch smiled as he got the plates out. He'd been surprised when she'd asked him to stay here, but it was nice… "I did invite someone, but she most likely won't come by."

Calliope rolled her eyes as he backed out the door."If you think bribing me with chocolate will work, it won't!" she called after him as he closed it. She got up after a moment and locked it herself. She looked over at the bag of chocolates he had left, half tempted to toss them in the trash just to spite him, but also didn't want to waste food. They were the expensive kind too… Pressing her lips together, she stubbornly told herself she'd only eat a few, and finished closing the shop.

She thought of the invitation he had offered as she made her own dinner. Levi, her rather large black tabby, wound around her legs as he whined for a hand out. Even if she had wanted to go, he hadn't even given her the address, the idiot.

"MEOW!!"
"Alright, alright! Here's some of the fish stew, you big goof…"

"Ah might go ta the pub… Just ta get out." Morgana sighed as she ate. Pitch shrugged as he typed away on his laptop. "But then again, yah bought alcohol."

"It's going to rain tonight and you're mad at your sister." He sighed before stretching. "You may want to stay in… And the pub is closed tonight for renovations."

Calliope's evening was fairly quiet, just as she had been hoping. She made enough fish stew to last her a few days, and spent her dinner curled up on the couch with Levi wedged in the crook of her knees. She finished reading a  book, did a little bit of sketching and writing, and then went to bed. She may or may not have had a few of Pitch's chocolates but there was no way she would admit that to anyone, not even to herself. The rain pattered on her window, lulling her into a restful sleep.

The next day, the rain had let off at about noon. The book store was fairly empty thanks to the weather, and so she had decided that some cleaning of the non-fiction area would be a good idea. She grabbed the duster, a few magic erasers, and turned on the radio. She hummed between the shelves, singing along to some of the songs she knew.

"Nevermind, I'll find~ Someone like you~uuu~hoo~! I wish nothing but the best~ To youuuuu-hooo~!" Her voice was nearly perfect, all the years of  training at Berkley paying off as she sang to herself and hit every note with feeling. She really did like singing while she did stuff.

Morgana had ducked into the small building to avoid a small group of “journalists” from a tabloid. She sighed in relief as they ran past, and she began glancing over the titles as she slipped deeper into the store. Hearing the well-tuned voice of a practiced singer, she leaned against a shelf as the blonde woman cleaned. “Not bad, Songbird.” She said once the song had tapered off.

Pitch quickly held up the bag of sweets he'd bought for himself. "Five minutes. I promised M I wouldn't get the groceries soaked, and honestly, I'm mostly worried about the bread getting wet." Holding the bag out to the shorter woman, he shrugged. "And I don't want to crush all the liquor bottles…"

"She turned me into a newt." Grumbling, he fished out his cell phone. "I got caught in the rain. I'll be home in about five, ten minutes." He sighed before glancing in a bag. "Yes, I got the rum. And the Jägermeister. And the Baileys."

Calliope rolled her eyes at him as he held out the sweets. She scanned as to what it was, and, seeing that it was chocolate, seemed to calm down the slightest. Then he started going on about the other things he had, and she waved him away.

"Fine…" she sighed. "Just lock the door while you're standing there. I was trying to close."
She started shelving the books, and heard the ringtone. She couldn't stop the small giggle, the line being familiar to her. The conversation was pretty close so she overheard part of it, of course. She gave a questioning look to him as he mentioned all the liquor. What, did this M need to drown an army, or something?

Nodding at both the woman in front of him and the one on the phone, he did as Calliope asked before carefully leaning against the table. "The store was out of chamomile, but I did find some green tea. No, no, M… Your sister called, didn't she? Right." Pitch sighed and glanced at the rain. "The rain just stopped." Glancing at Calliope, he switched to his bad Gaelic before nodding and hanging up. Unlocking the door, he gathered up his bags. "Have a good evening." He smiled as he left the chocolates and backed out of the store. "M wants to know if you'd want to stop by for dinner…"

She was duly ignoring him as she finished re-shelving the books, and went back to her counter. She opened the cash register, and then got out her books from underneath. Whenever he dropped by, it seemed about nine times out of ten, this 'M' person called him up, and bothered him without twenty million things. Part of her wondered if Pitch had a wife he just never told her about, but she highly doubted he was the marrying kind of guy…

She looked up from counting the money from the register as he left. She shook his head for he invitation to dinner. "You forgot your chocolates," she said as she went back to work. Dinner with a person she couldn't stand and another she didn't even know really existed? She didn't think so.

"Keep them." He shrugged before carefully exiting. "And think the dinner invitation over." Walking down the street, he cut through the park to the high rise that was closest. Nodding to the doorman, he hurried to the elevator and hit the button for the penthouse floor. "I'm home."

The day was bright and warm, a content spring afternoon covering the city. A book shop stood on one of the town's shopping streets, and was covered in shelves and shelves of books. The lighting was  dimmed, creating a cozy environment that reminded customers more of a library then a bookstore that encouraged you to browse and buy. Comfy chairs and a small couch lay around near lamps.

Calliope wiped the shop's counter down, the end stacked with books she had to shelve. She was actually closing for the day, and was looking forward to a nice, quiet dinner by herself in her apartment above her store. It had been a slow day despite the good weather, and besides, she wanted to get some writing of her own done.

She looked up as the bell hung in front of her door rang unexpectedly, and she tried to see among her stacks who had decided to wander in. She tended to get rather random people, despite the street being nice.

Pitch swore under his breath as he set the groceries down. Calliope hated him, but he probably had a peace offering in the things he'd picked up for Morgana… Glancing up, he gave the woman a weak smile. "Just catching my breath, Calli…" He teased before glancing outside and swearing again. "Of all the times for it to start raining."

Whatever good mood Calliope was in soured instantly she heard who it was. She looked back to her counter, scrubbing the stubborn spot where she spilled a bottle of ink once.

"Get out of my shop, Pitch," she said flatly, her tone making it pretty obvious she didn't want him in the same room with her. The man got under her skin quicker then some kind of parasite. "You can go catch your breath in the sunshower…"

She moved from the counter to try and encourage him out the door, picking up stray books as she went.

Muse was standing there, almost beside herself with terror. There was a reason she didn't like anyone else around whenever Pitch came to call. The Nightmare King was viciously possessive of her when he wanted an idea, or ideas, and hated seeing anyone interacting with her. What fun was a toy if you had to share it with everyone else all the time? Pitch was practically radiating rage as Morgana talked to him, and seemed about five seconds from grabbing him and tossing him away from her.

"The state of my horse is none of your business, sir, and neither is this conversation!" he snarled at him. He turned his silver eyes on Muse, and she nearly crushed Morgana's hand in hers. "Muse, if you would be so kind, please tell your… Visitor that this is a private matter, and chivalry or not-" He glared at the man again for emphasis. "-I would like to speak with you alone."

For a second, it looked as if Muse would do as he said. She swallowed hard, and wavered the slightest. But then she squeezed Morgana's hand, and squared her shoulders. Brow determined, she looked straight at Pitch.

"No," she said.
Pitch's whole face changed, a shift going over it like a snake re-arranging its scales. "What." he hissed. The shadows churned in the corners, and Onyx stepped forward, nostrils flared.
Muse took a step forward out of Morgana's arms, mouth set in a stubborn line. "No." she said again, stepping a little closer. "I was in the middle of a nice lunch, and I don't feel like being interrupted. Now leave, like I asked you already before. Or perhaps my friend here can help you find the exit,"

Morgana grinned and easily tossed an arm over Pitch's shoulders, steering him back to Onyx. "The lady does 'ave a right ta choose 'er company…" Green eyes glinting, he decided to see just how far he could push Pitch in this form. Leaning in, he began to whisper. "Course we could meet up later, if yah understand, sir. Ah would be interested ta see why her Majesty talks 'bout yah so much." Reaching down with the hand on Pitch's left shoulder, he gently smacked the Nightmare King's behind.

For a moment, it looked as if Pitch had absolutely no idea what had just happened. His face went blank in a look of consternation and bafflement at how this idiot was steering him away from Muse like they were old friends of some kind.

"Wha- Unhand me, you bafoon, what do you think you're doing?!" he snarled, trying to get away from the strange man. Something about this guy was starting to feel familiar…

When the man touched him completely inappropriately, he snapped. He practically threw the man away from him, bearing down on him like an enraged bear. "YOU DARE-!!!"

His tirade was broken by Muse's giggle, and he looked sharply up at her as she couldn't help but start to laugh a bit. His quick glare made her stop though, or at least pretend to stop.

Morgana chuckled and opened his mouth before blinking. "Oh shite, not now…" was heard over the poof of smoke as the spell wore off. Waving the smoke away, she grinned at the man in front of her. "Hiya Pitch. Now do Ah need ta slap yahr arss again or are yah goin' ta leave?" She asked teasingly before practically shoving him onto Onyx and slapping the Nightmare's rump to send the creature running. "Ah'll see yah tomorrow, Pitch!" She giggled before turning back to Muse. "Let's finish that tea, hm?"

Part of her wanted to panic because how could Morgana, the woman who was so strong for her, suddenly start to cry. She then quickly went to her and hugged her, kissing her forehead and her wet cheeks. "Oh, dear, Morgana, it's okay.... Shhhh...." she murmured, wanting to know what was wrong.

Morgana clung to her friend and wiggled as close as she could. "It's Brigid's birthday…"
